Can you breed different types of rats together?

I would like to breed a dumbo rat and a regular rat together.I want to know if deformaties or labor problems may occur. Also I want to know when you start to see signs of pregnantcy in rats. thanks kristenCan you breed different types of rats together?
yes you can breed them, but I would make sure you have homes for the babies...I've had litters w/ over 21 babies before! I average about 15 a litter. You may want to do some research before breeding. Why do you want to breed a dumbo w/ a standard ear? Is it for a particular color? If the standard doesn't carry dumbo, you will not get dumbo babies. Breeding rats should be about bettering the breed, for example, temperment, and health. Please rethink your decision. Make sure it is a responsible one.Can you breed different types of rats together?
Of course! they are all rats. Dumbo is just a recessive trait like red hair. It doesn't make them incompatable.

Breeding is a cool thing if you do it right. I've heard one thing that can really help is to find a successful breeder, and have them sort of mentor you. Talk to them about the best way to breed healthy babies, what kind of lines are strong. Stuff like that. There are alot of breeders out there, and from what I can tell they are generally pretty nice.
yes you can breed them
yer as long as there rats
