That's what playoff experience will do. The Spurs are becoming like the Lakers at the start of this decade; a team that paces itself during the regular season then hones their game come April. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
The Spurs have got plenty of playoffs and finals experience.
My theory is that in the regular season, the Spurs will do well and finish 3rd or 4th in West, so that people aren't really expecting them to be champions. Then they go all out in the playoffs.

This is the year the Spurs wish they have a good regular season, because went it come playoff time, it will catch up to them. This is the year where every team is very competitive especially the Lakers getting Pau Gasol into the mix. The Spurs in my opinion looked very old this year, i mean very old old.
