How to freeze rats for snake food.?

I am going to start breeding rats for my snakes. How do i go about freezing them like in the shops.How to freeze rats for snake food.?

Ok from personal experience I have tried breeding rats for my snake... he eats them alive... and you are going to have one hell of a time with the smell! Its rancid! And if your snake doesnt eat them alive, your going to have to kill them yourself which is just way beyond what you should have to do just to feed your pet... Your not going to be saving that much money - a pack of frozen mice are like under $5 and only a little over a $1 for one that is alive... Majority of the time pet stores cant guarantee the sex of small rodents... so unless you plan on having more than 2 your house is going to be nassstayyy!
dont listen to most ov the people on here. when they are ready to be frozen, simple kill em humanly put em in a freezer burn proof zip lock type bag, throw em in the freezer. very simple. the semi hard part, is figuring out how to kill em, lol.





i breed for fuzzies and adult size mice. for the fuzzies i simply dip em in water and throw them in the zip lock, then into the freezer, f*ck it, right.





for the adults its a bit tricker, then again not too hard, i just throw em all in a box and then into the freezer, such as a steralite tub, make em freeze. their feeder mice. f*ck you who say any different.
don't listen to these ppl, nubs =_=. i breed mice for my snakes, first once breed and ready to freeze, kill the mice by pulling there head and tail in opposite directions, that will kill them quickly and they wont feel a thing. next put them in zip lock bags and put them in the freezer.
You can't they are flash frozen.





Like if you freeze a rabbit you gut it first, the same as any animal you choose to pick. Freeze it with the soft entrails in and they collapse and rot in thawing poisoning the meat. A house hold freezer is to slow.





Why would you want to kill the rat, it's easier to feed live, but illegal in the UK.
well i hate mice and rats but i only have them in my house cos of my snakes but if i was you id just stick them in the freezer and check on them 30 Min's later should do the job
no need to freeze them, feed them live it is better for the snake. But if you must freeze place them in a solid box and place into freezer,24hrs later place in storage bags.
Thats animal cruelty buddy and Im pretty sure you can get fined for it. Just buy pre-killed rats, its cheaper. If any shops are freezing their rats for snake food, report them to the RSPCA.

I usually just put them in the freezer and let them 'go to sleep' overnight !
put them in a baggy alive and put them in the freezers i use to raise them myself

it is illigal 2 breed rats/mice 2 feed on!! you should buy them from the pet shop their cheap enough and buy them in bundles n freeze them!!
