What is a good way to get rid of mice or rats fast?...?

What method do you use? Why?What is a good way to get rid of mice or rats fast?...?
get traditional spring type mouse traps, use a small amount of peanut butter as bait. Sticky traps are inhumane, slow death to the rodent stuck in them. You can use D-con poison if you have no pets or kids, but you wont know where they go to die. The D-con is supposed to help dry up the carcass. Sorry, I know that's sick, but no way to candy coat it.

I have not seen a cat yet that opens and closes cabinet doors and drawers in search of mice.

For me, normal traps, snap and they are done. Not hard to dump them.

There are some new gee whizzy wind up things that are supposed to kill instantly, you dont have to see it etc. I have never tried these.

Normal type spring mouse traps are the cheapest and they work effectively.

Start thinking about how they are getting in, door threshholds, pet doors, open drier vents etc. etc.

This is the time of year the little guys are looking to get inside.

If you have suspended ceilings, place a trap above the tiles too.

make notes where you put traps so you dont forget them, that could be bad. :)

I encourage foxes in my yard. Since then I have had no mice. If you live where they are not available use cats.
i would use quite a few things. you should first, definatley set out mouse traps. those always work. then, if you want to, get a young, active cat. my family has had cats befor, and they always had to be outside cats. (my dad has this thing with cats) andywho, they would always be catching mice and birds all the time. so yea. hope i could help!
Use peppermint oil. They cant stand the smell. Take some cotton balls and put them in little hide away spots. Make sure you put some by the front and back doors and in cabinets. Behind the refrigerator, stove and couch. Put some in the bathroom also. The whole Idea is to put them everywhere to keep them out cause sometime they will just migrate to another area of the house and u don't want that. You want to get rid of them. Plus after wards your house smells nice and full of peppermint. If you have children then you don't have to worry about harmful chemicals or them finding dead mice.
1. baking soda and peanut butter

roll the mixture into balls

2. bar bait

3. a good cat
I would suggest a cat!! Dont give them poison cause they'll just die somwhere and then you'll be wondering where that odor is coming from. Don't use glue traps if you don't want to look at them but the do work good!!
traps, bait, poison, or a couple cats. Could always try to coax/chase it outside too.
A big cat. Get one that has grown up on a farm. OR, they have these big mouse traps that are like metal treys with a sticky thing in the bottom. Throw some bread in there and they will come like crazy. I cought like 7 in one night using that.

thats what I had. Works wonders!!
1-call an exterminator

2-get as many cats as a creepy old lady
Get a good mousing kitty. I have not seen one in almost a year. Don't forget to give praise when he catches one, don't just scream.
I had a very foolish or brave mouse wander into my house of 3 cats once. I never saw it again ;)
Get a B-I-G cat, or several. Use traps, and rat bait. Don't leave any type of food. Hire the Pied Piper of Hamlin. Move to a better neighborhood. Or, learn to love them...

Scientists are now using lawyers for experiments instead of rats. Researchers don't get so attached to them, and there are some things even rats won't do.
I'd get a couple of cats. Personal experience has taught me that cats keep a home rodent and vermin free. And you get the benefit of pets that are actually useful.
dynamite.

I can't stand the dirty, flea ridden things.
The easiest and most humane method is to place a plastic garbage pail in the middle of the floor with a board leaning against it like a ramp. Then put some tasty food in the bottom of it. (I've heard you can make a little paper bridge too but I find it isn't needed). The mice will go into the garbage to get the food and won't be able to get back out. Then you can release them as far away from your home as possible or do whatever you like with them.

Also cover other sources of food in the house. Mice love soap so keep soap in covered soap dishes. They will also eat tape so make sure this is placed somewhere secure and anything else that might be a food source. This will not only cause them to seek the food in the garbage pail but will discourage them from coming back.

We did this at our cottage in Maine when we had mice and it worked well.
I use mouse traps with peanut butter on them works every time never failed.
