Is it safe to put pine sticks, twigs, and such in a rats cage?

I know that pine bedding is toxic to rats, and so is cedar, but is it unsafe to put in stciks and twigs of pine?

Thanks! Is it safe to put pine sticks, twigs, and such in a rats cage?
best thing for a rats cage is paper....i use newspaper and he shreds it himself...its safe for him and inexpensive. Is it safe to put pine sticks, twigs, and such in a rats cage?
yes it is as it is the actual wood that is toxic to rats, not just the shavings, you would be better off using pet store bought chew sticks or fruit tree wood if you have that in your garden :-)
pine is only acceptable in any form when it has been kiln dried. the issue with the pine is the aromatic oils from it, which will come from sticks and twigs just as much as from bedding so no do not use them.
no you shouldn't use them the sticks are just as toxic as the bedding so maybe instead you can just use rope or paper towel rolls (i mean the cardboard in the middle) that all works just as well as sticks

hope i helped
