Buy a corner litter box from a pet store.
Place some of your rat's poop and soiled litter into the litter box.
Clean the cage completely with a bleach/water solution.
Training could take one day or it could take one month.
You'll have to keep the cage super clean during training.
If your rats are babies they will not use the litter box.
Full grown rats should catch on rather quickly. How in the hell am i going to litter train my rats?
it does seem easy, doesnt it ;D
be prepared, though
it could take months
it gets very frustrating XD

Figure out were your rat goes to the bathroom the most and place a litter pan there. When you can see they're going to go to the bathroom, put them in it. Maybe add some already used bedding so they get the idea. But, most people use a different bedding entirely so the rat can feel the difference. So he/she knows what's the litter area and what's the bedding. Hope i helped!
well most of the times the tend to do their deeds in a certain area to make it that much easier on you its better just to put the littler pan thier.
TIPS ON HOW TO LITTER TRAIN:
1.when scooping up the ';bathroom'; dump the waste in the litter pan let the rats investigate they will get the hint this is wher they should go.
2.leave the litter box in one place dont try and confuse them by moving.
3. it takes time but rats are very smart so it should not be that hard but be patient:)
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RATS!
First find the corners where your rats ';go'; most. You can just take a tupperware large enough for them to sit in and hole punch the sides. then use string to tie it to the bars. Fill it with bedding (i found that wood shavings actually have the best oder control) and dump it when it starts to smell. This way you don't really have to train them, they just naturally, um, use it. Mine also sleep and eat in it, btw. Don't know if yours will, cause my other friends rats don't.
hope this helps!
Put the litter box in the corner of the cage the rat uses most and put some soiled litter in it. Eventually, the rat will get the idea.
