Just wondering if you could have a pair of male rats in the same cage together with them hurting each other.

YES. Rats should be kept in pairs, and most rats get along with others. Males typically get along spendidly with each other. They'll sleep together, groom each other and play-fight.
If you get the rats spearately, make sure you introduce them to each slowly and somewhere that is ';neutral'; - don't shove the new one into the old one's cage. If you get them together, they should get along fine.
Male rats sometimes get more aggressive towards puberty, but this isn't the case for all.Can you have a pair of male rats together in the same cage???
It depends. My rats came out of the same litter and I bought them together. They've been sharing a cage this whole time. There are a few disputes, but as long as they get exercise out of their cage they tend to fight very little. They're very close- always snuggling, and can even work their travel ball together.
If you do it, you may get lucky as I did. But be prepared with some money for a second cage if you need it.
its a better to put them in together from babies
they might fight at 1st, they do this to figure out who's boss then they should be fine
i had two male rats from babies they used to hate each other and fight but in time time they grow to love each other and curl up in the bed together
You most certainly can put two boys together, and you should. Rats thrive off of eachother's company. And males are actually a lot more aesy going and lazy than females are. Just make sure that the introduction goes slow, a couple weeks usually. Check out fancy-rats.co.uk for info ... it's a forum where I learned everything I've ever needed to know about my ratties.
I used to keep two male rats in the same cage together. It's best to get them from the same litter. Or it that's not possible introduce them to each other when they're both still young.
Mine got on perfectly fine until they both died of old age. They never had a single fight, and followed each other round like puppy dogs. You should have a problem as long as their cage is big enough. Also I'd provide two beds for them, incase they want to sleep sepretly (mine never did)

Where did you hear that? All rats should be kept with same sex pairs or they will get lonely. I don't know why people think male rats are aggressive, quite the opposite is true. Big balls of laziness is what they are.

i want to make some home-made treats for my rats but i also want to make them healthy, any tips?
Also, what veggies can my rats eat?
And LASTLY, what human foods can rats eat? ie pasta and things.

hi - rats eat most things although dont give them to many vitimins cos although this sounds weird its not allways good for there skin - they love dog buiscuits, egg the go mad after, meat they love but dont leave it in their cage for too long of they dont eat it cos obviously it goes off.
a few fun tips:
*put a bowl of water in the cage and put a few sunflower seeds in the water (with the shells on) they float and rats love getting there paws in there and fishing round for them.
*get an old toilet tissue tube and cover 1 end with a few layers of tissue - then fill the tube with a mix of food and treats - the cover the other end with tissue aswell - put it in there cage and watch them tear the holes in there to get to the food - they will love it !!!!!

If you buy them at the same time you wont need to introduce them and since your a new rat owner it would be better for you not to try anything to difficult. Did the Us Government hire Thai people during Vietnam to work as tunnel rats?
Some guy came up to me and said he worked in NKP as a tunnel rat for the US Army in Vietnam. He was old enough and spoke some English but he seemed to be hitting the lao-lao pretty hard.Did the Us Government hire Thai people during Vietnam to work as tunnel rats?
The NVA and VC did construct a lot of tunnel networks and since they were ';slightly smaller'; than most US GI's the tunnels were a little narrow in some places. It would make sense to use the smallest guy to crawl in to investigate or set some charges.
I don't remember reading or personally seeing any Thai's in the US employ for this particular job. Thai troops were in Nam but my best guess that they did their own tunnel exploring and the US did their own exploring! There were always joint type missions, I guess it would be prudent to use what ever particular resources available to get the job done.

Pre-season friendlies bore the backside off me, always have done. Good luck to anyone who made the trip south, have a great time and enjoy yourself.........but really, what do they achieve, apart from getting the players fit ?Do any Rangers fans give a rats **** about the Arsenal game ?

I don't know how the pro players manage to switch off and care so little, whenever I played wherever I played, even out in the car park with the lads at lunch time there was no such thing as a friendly.
The result doesn't mean anything but I'd still rather win. A lot of the time you also see better football, some of the stuff rangers played against psg was rather good, due to there being no pressure.
And if we beat Arsenal today the boys will have a good confidence level heading into the season. To be on a winning streak before the season begins can't hurt.

In saying that it gives fans a chance to see their hero's compete against quality teams that they may rarely see. I'm interested in the game though the result is less important than the players coming through injury-free. Saw some good things from Rangers today against PSG but am not putting any great stock in the score other than it is always nicer to win than to lose....friendly or not.

How to befreind my new baby rats?
I have just bought my first pair of female rats. and I want to know how is the best way to get them comfortable with me.
I have put their cage in an area where I am alot and have been resting my hand in their cage so they can sniff it sometimes with goodies for them sometimes without. are there any other ideas?How to befreind my new baby rats?
You are already doing what I was going to suggest. :) Just keep up with the hand thing (heck, pop a movie in and watch it with your hand in the cage), and talk to them a lot. After they get comfortable on your hand, start lifting it and putting it back down in small increments until they don't care that their seat just turned into a flying carpet.

i would definately suggest that you are doing the right thing already. i think i will also try adding an old t-shirt or something that i have worn to the cage so that the rats can have a good sniff and get used to my smell. some people carry their rats around in a bum bag or similar filled with bedding so that the rats again can get used to your smell and therefore build a bond. i think offering treats by hand is a good step - food is always good in building trust and friendship.
Take them shopping with you, to the Mall maybe!
